A very easy, well balanced surprise, came out last night in my bar!
I just sunk 2 green peppers in my honey mix (1:1 my father's pure honey with water).
Then in a shaker i added the following:
* 50 ml. Basil Hayden's Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey,
* 20 ml fresh lemon juice
* 20 ml pepper honey
* 10 ml egg white
Shake well, and double strain in a sour glass.
No ice in the glass please!
I also added two drops of Peychaud orange bitters on the top.
Decorated with an orange twist. I dont really like maraschino cherries. They are so 90's..
Tonight i will try to add a few of Passion fruit purree in the mix...
Maybe i let you know in my next post!
Kentucky Bourbon is whiskey distilled from a (at least) 51% corn mash. The rest can be other cerials especially corn.
They are aged for at least 2 years in new oak smokey barrels
Basil Hayden's itself found this excellent Kentucky bourbon in 1796!
It is based in corn and rye as well.
The high rye amount is distilled of, gives to it, a peppery dry aroma, makes it great for that cocktail!
